Green Chic

At Eco Fusion Design’s showroom,

eco-friendly finds are the name of the game

Andrea Jakubczak knows the stories behind what she sells. Venturing through Eco Fusion Design, her intimate interior design and décor showroom, she points out items here and there.

“This is 100 percent bamboo,” she says, gesturing to a sleek cabinet while describing the mission of its designer, Maria Yee. “Her sustainability statement and quality is amazing,” Jakubczak adds.

As she continues her storytelling showroom tour, Jakubczak slowly illuminates her own mission: To provide design solutions from products built with high integrity, environmental consideration and quality.

But don’t expect the roughhewn fabrics or minimalist designs so often thought of when mentioning ”green” goods. For Jakubczak, today’s eco-friendly products are all about a refined style. From tabletop accessories such as picture frames, lamps and glassware to wall art and stately furniture pieces, her design palette consists of chic neutrals and luxe textures that create a comfortably modern feel.

Grabbing a seat in one of the several couches she displays, Jakubczak happily talks her design-focused passions. The showroom serves both as a boutique of sorts and an office for her focus on helping area homeowners solve their design dilemmas. Whether selecting a single piece of furniture or furnishing and remodeling an entire room, Jakubczak’s goal is to find solutions that will not only be healthy and livable but will last.

“That’s why we have high standards for what we bring in here. My kids come in and I have no problem with them jumping on the furniture, because I know it’s well made,” she says, smiling. Design that’s meant for living? We’ll take that.

In short: Cozy, comfortable and stylish without any sense of pretention, it’s a showroom for finding environmentally friendly home décor items and interior design solutions.

Jakubczak’s favorites: The Cisco Brothers poufs, a Wisconsin-made free-standing slate kitchen island, and a Maria Yee media cabinet.

Why you’ll love it: Whether you’re looking for a furniture piece that will last decades or budget-friendly home accessories, you’ll find endless inspiration for creating a warm, earthy environment in your home.
