Chef’s Corner: Madison Sourdough Co.
By Stephanie Carnes
The smell catches you first. The sweet scent of rising yeast, mixed with roasting coffee. Ahh. Combine that with rows of tantalizing pastries and homemade breads and it’s no wonder Madison Sourdough is a cozy pit stop that Williamson Street has been happy to welcome to the neighborhood.
“We want to be a place where our neighbors gather,” says Executive Chef Molly Maciejewski.
And gather they do. Known for years for the pastries and breads sold at restaurants and grocery stores across town, the homey café now pairs their breads with organic ingredients to create wholesome staples, including the best-selling breakfast sandwich with house-smoked ham, pictured here.
Whether in need of a morning treat to pair with coffee or a place to have lunch with friends, Madison Sourdough is just the kind of café where you’ll want to become a regular.
Madison Sourdough is located at 916 Williamson St., Madison; (608) 442-8009 or madisonsourdough.com.
