A Pig in a Fur Coat
By Bess Donoghue
If the bold marigold door of Williamson Street’s newest eatery doesn’t grab your attention, the name most certainly will. Cheekily called A Pig in a Fur Coat—an epithet offering a hint at the upscale, (mostly) meat-based fare on the menu—the cozy restaurant offers a contemporary dining experience for the neighborhood.
The brainchild of co-owners Chef Daniel Bonanno and General Manager Bonnie Arent, the Mediterranean-inspired menu is full of twists on the tastes of Europe, including duck egg and pancetta ravioli, pork belly with veggies, and sardines with fennel and chili (pictured).
With low lighting that offers a calm vibe over expansive tables to accommodate rowdy dinner parties, the atmosphere creates an ideal destination for any occasion that calls for down-to-earth fine-dining and an experiment for your taste buds.
A Pig in a Fur Coat is located at 940 Williamson St., Madison; (608) 316-3300 or apiginafurcoat.com.
