Executive director, Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation, Inc. Abitz works to raise awareness that women diagnosed with breast cancer need support not only while they’re undergoing medical treatment, but after treatment ends as well. Her work with BCRF supports Infinite Boundaries — a retreat program that helps women deadl with the range of emotions that often accompany a breast cancer diagnosis — sadness, anger and the fear the cancer will return.
Michelle Heitzinger Executive director, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Madison Affiliate Heitzinger works to provide a wealth of current information and resources for breast health and breast cancer both here in Madison and Dane County as well as nationally. Funds raised support community outreach and education programs and help develop programs with partner organizations in the community.
Julie McKy Nominee, Madison Woman of the Year Diagnosed with breast cancer herself, McKy is a true advocate, volunteering to raise money for various area causes.
Fiona McTavish Researcher, University of Wisconsin Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies and deputy director, Center of Excellence in Cancer Communications Research As a researcher at UW-Madison, McTavish advocates on behalf of women with breast cancer and passionately fights the disease through her work.
