Lindsay Schroeder—national makeup artist with Prep Cosmetics—shares a few tips with us this month on choosing the correct shade of dark lipstick to suit your complexion. - Fair skin: Choose rich plums and saturated wine reds both will be best with a blue undertone. Stay away from deeper shades with a lot of brown.
- Medium skin: Deeper roses, berry colors and rich mauves; also choose a burgundy or mahogany over a bright red when going darker it will compliment your skin tone. If you have yellow undertones choose warmer stick colors because they will be more flattering.
- Dark skin: Choose deep plums, chocolate variations and dark reds with blue undertones.
